Saturday crafting

It's school holidays, and I enjoyed a fun Saturday scrappy session with J-girl... it's been a LONG time since we sat down together to do crafty stuff.  We tried something new ~ a quad easel card.  I followed Michelle's tutorial at Flying Unicorns.

Top easel view:

All four panels viewed when flattened, and side view of one of the panels:

This was lots of fun to make!   I've also uploaded J-girl's card HERE.

Challenges:
* Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything Goes
* Butterfly Challenge ~ Butterflies + flowers
* Scrap it Girl ~ Brads, buttons & bling.  (The buttons and bling are easy to see.  The brad is the yellow dragonfly.)

Materials:
Bazzill Basics cardstock
Basic Grey Urban Couture - Cashmere patterned paper
My Memories butterfly punch
Tsukineko Versacube - Bark ink
Butterfly diecut image - received in a RAK

Weekend crafting with Jazi

This is the quad easel card that J-girl made today.  So proud of her for trying something new and following it through to completion!

Easel view from top:

View of all four panels when 'flattened':

I'm submitting Jazi's card at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge for the Tools theme.  Jazi used my supplies, including old Basic Grey Sugared papers.  Despite not doing any scrapbooking for over a year, she still loves using all kinds of scrapbooking tools, including the guillotine and butterfly punch.  Her favourite thing is still the Cuttlebug, which she used to make the title.  She used my MFT Die-namics alphabet dies the first time, which also required a metal adaptor plate ~ another first for her.

Edit 03/08/2015:  Listed as a favourite at AFSC:

Also submitting at Simon Says Wednesday challenge for the Anything Goes theme.

Thank you for looking - all comments appreciated!

Two creations...

I had some fun getting girly with this layout:

I used the June sketch from Scrap Our Stash as my starting point, and I also added flowers and bling for the monthly challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks.

#####################

The extra criteria for Scrap Our Stash was to use the leftovers to create a card.  I already used mostly offcuts to create my layout, so I didn't have much to work with... but this is what I came up with:

I'm submitting my card at Simon Says Wednesday for the Anything Goes theme.

Materials:
College Press Margot - Cherry Blossoms patterned paper
Basic Grey Two Scoops - Strawberry Smoothie patterned paper
Basic Grey Urban Prairie - Bonnet patterned paper
My Memories butterfly punch
Spellbinders Shape-abilities - Butterflies die
Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphabet stickers
Basic Grey Gypsy - Harem patterned paper
MFT Die-namics - Little Lowercase Letters alphabet dies
Paper doiley

Construction Zone

This layout was inspired by a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.  It's been a while since I joined in over there, but this sketch (with some liberal tweaking on my part) was just right for the photographs:

I included some altered chipboard for the challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks cybercrop.  I cut the frame in half, then heat embossed with glitter embossing powder:

This layout was also inspired by Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge with their June Tools theme.  I put aside my pile of travel photographs and searched out some photographs of my husband working at home in the yard.  He uses all kinds of power tools in his projects, but for this one it was back to the old trenching tool while laying the foundations for the new duck enclosure.

Materials:
October Afternoon Sasparilla - Gold Rush patterned paper
Websters Pages Allison Kreft - Recorded patterned paper
Vintage book paper
Pebbles roller stamp
CTMH Black dye ink
Chipboard frame - prize RAK from many years ago
Punched butterflies - prize RAK from many years ago
Gel-a-tins Gelly Powder - Northern Lights blue glitter
MFT Die-namics - Little Letters alphabet dies
FWAB Rhinestones - Silver
Spanner charm - prize RAK from Scrapbook Fantasies

Ranger Dylusions - Squeezed Orange ink spray

Going up

Super simple layout ~ another for the winter album:

Once again I took inspiration from the ARTastic challenge piece:

I included a whimsical little birdie button, and used corrugated card to recreate a 'wooden' look in the background.

I'm also submitting my layout at Unruly PaperArts for the Great outdoors theme.

Two sketch layouts

Using some sketches in my scrappy projects today...

This one was inspired by the May sketch at Swirlydoos:

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I used the May sketch at My Creative Sketches for this layout:

The photographs on this layout look a bit wonky because they are photographs of images on a projector screen. For my daughter's Year 7 graduation, we were asked to supply a photograph of her first day of primary school.  As each student received their graduation certificate, their Year 1 and Year 7 photographs were projected on the big screen behind them.  It was a lovely thing!

I'm also submitting this layout at Swirlydoos for the Ceremony theme.

Pixels & Paper June DT Reveal

80% of Queensland is now drought-declared... and people in affected areas are doing it tough.  Despite the dry conditions, Western Queensland is still an amazing place to visit!

This is my DT reveal for Pixels and Paper in June:

And this is the picture that inspired it:

I was inspired by the windmill - such an iconic sight all around Australia. I have LOTS of photographs of windmills and scenery which I took on our recent trip to outback Queensland, so it was just a matter of choosing which one to scrap!

I'd also like to submit my layout at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge for the Anything Goes theme.

Materials:
Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden - Entrance patterned paper
Websters Pages Allison Kreft - Recorded patterned paper
Vintage book page
MFT Die-namics - Little Letters alphabet dies
